How sleep disordered breathing occurs.
As the diaphragm and chest expand to pull air in to the lungs it creates a negative pressure or vacuum, outside air is drawn into the body to fill space.

When there is resistance to the air being pulled through the upper respiratory track which creates a negative pressure in the passage. As the air flows with resistance the tissue of the throat can vibrate leading to the symptom of snoring.

Sleep apnea can occur when there is resistance to the airflow in the upper respiratory track doesn’t allow enough air through the respiratory track to neutralize this vacuum. The vacuum in the back if the throat can overcome the strength of the lateral walls of the breathing tube (trachea) and cause it to close creating sleep apnea .A second cause of apnea is the base of the tongue falling back into the throat and mechanically blocking the airway.

The nasal button create a gentle stretch of the upper lip region putting a traction on the inner nasal tissue to dilate the nose increasing the nasal volume up 300% and reduce the resistance up to 80%.
